How to Make a Financial Donation
See our education center and farm to see how your donation can make a difference in strengthening the community, the next generations of small-plot food producers, and supporting their networks. We gratefully accept financial donations in all amounts. Simply use our contact form below to pledge a donation.
Gifts-in-Kind for items and services
In addition to financial contributions, we gratefully accept gifts-in-kind of goods and services. Consider donation of furniture, office equipment, and building materials that are in good condition and that Heathcote currently needs. We also need donations of services either without payment or at a significant discount, such as those of plumbers, electricians, and other skilled tradespeople. Administrative and technical services are also needed.
Become a Friend of the Mill
Friends of the Mill is a dedicated fund to restore the of Heathcote mill building, first constructed in 1842. It formerly served as Heathcote Education Center’s indoor public classroom, community meeting room, and Heathcote Community’s common kitchen. We will begin refurbishing the mill this year to expand the indoor component of our education program.
Volunteering at Heathcote
Volunteers make a more flexible work commitment, including on-off attendance or taking on a regular chore, without being residents at Heathcote.

Besides donating gifts-in-kind, School of Living is eligible for eBay for Charity. When you sell an item on eBay, you can dedicate 10-100% of the final sale price to School of Living. Your item will also get a special listing on eBay’s Charity Shop and the SOL logo will appear on your listing. On your account, add School of Living to “My Favorites” and choose SOL every time you sell an item.
